The latest version of Tesla's Model 3 sedan, previously launched in Europe, the Middle East, and China last autumn, is now released in North America. Reportedly named "Highland" during development, this updated model brings several noticeable changes to Tesla's popular electric sedan.
Externally, the unique bump on the front end has been eliminated, featuring a smoother hood and low-profile headlights in contrast to the previous model. Tesla claims these changes are "optimized for maximum aerodynamics," potentially resulting in increased range. Additionally, it now comes in two new colors: stealth gray and ultra red.
You can only order the new 2024 Model 3 on Tesla's website now. Instead of three choices, there are only two: a Long Range AWD with two motors and a cheaper Rear-Wheel Drive version. You can't order the fancier Performance model for now.
The 2024 Long Range Tesla Model 3 now claims to go up to 341 miles on a single charge, an improvement from the previous version's 333 miles. The rear-wheel model's range remains at 272 miles as listed.
The starting prices for both versions remain the same as last year's models, but there is one more change. According to Tesla's website, the top speed for both versions of the new 2024 Model 3 is listed as 125mph. In comparison, the 2023 rear-wheel model had a top speed of 140mph, the Long Range went up to 145mph, and the Performance model could reach up to 162mph.
Tesla highlights several improvements for the new model, including new acoustic glass for a quieter cabin, enhanced ride quality through updated suspension tuning, and a focus on "more sophisticated" interior materials. Other features include ventilated seats, customizable ambient lighting, a brighter center touchscreen with smaller bezels and improved contrast, as well as an upgraded sound system boasting up to 17 speakers.
