Rachel Zegler clinched the coveted Action Movie Star of the Year award at the People's Choice Awards for her standout performance in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes." Winners of the People's Choice Awards are determined through fan voting, with results announced live on NBC and Peacock. Zegler's triumph came amidst stiff competition, with nominees including her "Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" co-star Viola Davis, as well as industry heavyweights like Tom Cruise ("Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning"), Gal Gadot ("Heart of Stone"), Brie Larson ("The Marvels"), Jason Momoa ("Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom"), Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"), and Keanu Reeves ("John Wick: Chapter 4").

"Thank you," Zegler expressed upon receiving the award. "I have a passion for movies, both in making and watching them. Tonight, I am among fellow movie enthusiasts and those who voted. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and watched the films that countless individuals have poured their hearts into. For a long time, I felt like I didn't belong in this industry, but tonight, you've shown me that I don't have to alter myself to be recognized, and for that, I am immensely thankful."

Zegler added, "With that said, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the many individuals who contributed to this movie. I'd like to extend my thanks to Francis Lawrence, our director, and Nina Jacobson, our producer. Special recognition goes to Dave Thompson, my A-camera operator, who tirelessly worked behind me, attached to a massive camera, as I navigated scenes in heels. I'm also grateful for Tom Blythe, my exceptional scene partner, and Josh Rivera, my unwavering support system. And of course, immense thanks to my mom, dad, and sister, as well as Suzanne Collins for creating this unforgettable character."
