Lionsgate is gearing up to release the movie, directed and written by Jade Halley Bartlett, on January 26, following its debut at the Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier that month.

Ortega takes on the role of Cairo, a promising writer grappling with the complexities of her relationship with Jonathan Miller (Freeman), whose assignment sparks tension between them.

Recognizing Cairo's potential, Miller extends a unique short story assignment to assess her capabilities. However, beneath the surface, a more ominous undercurrent simmers between them. As his colleagues playfully jest about the situation and Cairo's friend advises her to "make him love you," it becomes evident that their connection is on the verge of becoming complicated and messy.

Mr. Miller finds himself in a precarious position, where his career, family, and dreams of a conventional life are at risk. Cairo's potential allegations, suggesting a relationship beyond the boundaries of teacher and student, loom over him, threatening to unravel the stability he once took for granted.

Ortega started acting in films as a kid ten years ago and has become known for her memorable roles in horror movies, earning her the title of a modern scream queen. Her popularity has soared, especially after playing the lead role in the popular Netflix series Wednesday.

Ortega's upcoming projects include "Finestkind," scheduled for release on December 15, and she is set to star in the upcoming film "Death of a Unicorn."

Mark your calendars for the premiere of "Miller's Girl" in US cinemas on January 26, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
