Millie Bobby Brown has decided that her "Stranger Things" "Papa" will officiate her upcoming wedding to Jake Bongiovi.
Modine, known for his role as "Papa" to Brown's character Eleven in the acclaimed Netflix sci-fi series, has now confirmed that he will step into that same role in real life for her wedding.
Matthew mentioned that he had been licensed to officiate weddings before Millie and Jake began organizing their ceremony. Additionally, he disclosed that he had taken the time to write personalized wedding vows for the couple.
"I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife," he explained.
Modine, who was recently featured in the Oscar-winning film "Oppenheimer," mentioned that he had officiated a wedding on one prior occasion.
"It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony," Matthew concluded.
In 2022, during Tudum by Netflix, the star revealed that while working together, they had developed "a true, real friendship."
“I found that person to rely on and know he's always got my back,” she said of Matthew at the time.
Modine and Brown are set to appear in the upcoming fifth season of the Netflix hit series.
Brown, aged 20, and Bongiovi, aged 21, the son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi, announced their engagement on Instagram last year. However, they have not publicly disclosed their wedding date.
