Daredevil: Born Again was initially introduced as a unique offering with a lengthy 18-episode season, notably longer than the standard episode count seen in other Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney+. However, the latest updates hint at a departure from this original plan.

Vincent D'Onofrio, the actor playing Kingpin, revealed that Daredevil: Born Again, initially planned for 18 episodes, might undergo changes in its final episode count. The show could potentially end up with a different number of episodes, either fewer or more, as indicated by D'Onofrio's recent statement.

The amount of episodes keeps fluctuating, so I don't really know the number that we're at right now. But it seems like there are a few shows that could work with more episodes, then some that just need eight or 10 or six. Echo is like five."

I think this show could definitely work with more episodes, and I know that Charlie is, and I am too, happy to do that. But the number keeps fluctuating. I think you're gonna have to wait for an official announcement, because I don't want to say a number that we're going to do because I'm not even quite sure what it is."

In the midst of production, there was a substantial creative reset for the project, and as a result, the show is now expected to have a much shorter duration.

The Hollywood Reporter has shared insights indicating a substantial change in the trajectory of Daredevil: Born Again. The show is reportedly shifting its approach to align more closely with the Netflix model, which typically features seasons with 13 episodes each, as outlined in the report.

While the expected 13 episodes for Daredevil: Born Again is shorter than the initial plan of 18, it remains longer than the usual episode count for Marvel TV shows. WandaVision and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law each had nine episodes, mirroring the count of both seasons of What If...? Most other MCU shows typically have six episodes, with the recent release Echo having just five.

The release date for Daredevil: Born Again is currently unspecified. Meanwhile, fans can enjoy all three seasons of Daredevil, which are currently available for streaming on Disney+.
