According to THR, Mattson Tomlin has teamed up with HBO to work on a spinoff series titled "Aegon's Conquest" for Game of Thrones. Tomlin, known for his work on the upcoming DC Elseworlds sequel The Batman: Part II and the upcoming Mega Man movie, will serve as a co-writer. He has also contributed to the feature film adaptation of the action film BRZRKR, based on the Keanu Reeves-created comic book.
Variety had previously mentioned discussions about an Aegon's Conquest series at HBO, and the latest report from THR indicates that the project is progressing with a "back to basics" approach. This suggests that the series will likely focus on Aegon the Conqueror, a character frequently referenced in Game of Thrones. Aegon is an ancestor of Aegon II Targaryen, who is prominently featured in the spinoff series House of the Dragon. The teenage version of Aegon II Targaryen was portrayed by Ty Tennant, while Tom Glynn-Carney played the character as an adult.
